What could go wrong?

MATERIAL NARRATION

What could go wrong? – is a series of explosion-stills miniatures, casted in porcelain and a continuation of my research into human relation to disasters. As a starting point, I collected historical events which initially were planned as a preventive drill and eventually, by accident, turned into catastrophe itself.

By digitally simulating the moment of explosion in a 3D program, freezing the violent blast, casting it in porcelain and burning the objects under high temperature, I created a form of ritual of trial and error to tame the matter in order to ask the question: Where are the borders of mankind’s hubris against the forces of nature?
